AVG said it was infected with a trojan upon installing, but CODEC runs great after it was cleaned!

Hey there. Just installed K-lite Codec 3.6.5 Standard on my IBM ThinkPad laptop, but when I try to play a DVD, Windows Media Player keeps saying there's an error:

WMP has encountered a problem and needs to close

I tried playing the DVD via Media Player Classic and got a similar error.

Clicking on the PCFriendly icon for the DVD gives this error message:

Unknown or unsupported DVD decoder encountered

I tried uninstalling then reinstalling K-Lite but got the same messages. Without K-Lite I get the message that a compatible DVD decoder hasn't been installed on the computer. Anyone have any ideas?

I used k lite codec pack for ages but ever since i installed wmp 11 and whent to k lite v3.5.7 half my videos will not work

Itunes crashes with ace mega codecs pack because it interfears with quicktime. try this, uninstalll ace mega codecs pack, and when you reinstall it, search for the quicktime codec. Make sure its unchecked and click install. that should work.

For those who don't get FLV files to play, download FFDShow and Media Player Classic. This works for sure.
