K-Lite Codec Pack 3.10 Full, Standard and Basic
I tried installing the K-lite Codec Pack, but somehow it can't seem to. At the end, there was a missing d3d9.dll message. When I got it from the internet, it gave me another message

My husband and I have been using Virtualdub for years for our video files. It's made storing our massive movie collection much easier. Several hundred movies and drama series fit on hard drives instead of entire walls.
It's easy to use... I can use it and I don't have to understand anything complicated. Word of advice, the better the original condition of the video, the better the compressed version will be. Hands down, digital signal capture is better after compression, but free is free.

Symantec AntiVirus says coreavcdecoder.ax is a virus. AC3 Filter also makes some wave files unplayable.

This player is the worst yet.
After finally getting things to work the player begins to lag.

Awesome. Idiot-proof! I use RealPlayer since Windows likes to crash, and it works just fine with it.

It was very easy to install, and it at least allowed me to play dvds again. The only thing I didn't like was it was a little choppy.
