MX Player remains one of the most reliable options for media playback, offering strong format support and smooth performance.

It's amazing how fast it works and how well it compresses. It could be the new, modern successor to the FLAC format.

You're right, thanks for the feedback! We've updated the guide to clarify that VLC does auto-detect local subtitle files.

The confusion may have come from mixing up two different features: Auto-Detection (loading local subtitle files) and Auto Subtitle Search (downloading subtitles online). VLC handles the first one automatically, but requires the VLSub extension for the second.

Auto-Detection: VLC automatically detects subtitle files when they are in the same folder as the video file, making it easy to start watching without any manual adjustments.

Somewhat different from what is written in the comparison just above.

Doesn't work on Windows XP SP3, despite claims.

It's a very interesting and successful codec. I don't think it has received enough attention. Or perhaps most people are not yet aware of this work.

I take back my current review. Program installed perfectly.

I have Windows 7 Professional. Program will still not install. What a shame.

I still use this in fact ive confiugured my installs to always use this & I recommend this to all my friends due to its advanced confuguration abilities & advanced sound.

Just downloaded it today on my now outdated laptop, It worked perfectly and has just saved me a lot of time, effort and money. Definitely worth it
