Frequently Asked Questions

The extractor supports HLS (M3U8), DASH (MPD), direct MP3/AAC/OGG audio streams, Icecast and Shoutcast streams, RTMP/RTSP streams, PLS and M3U playlists, and direct MP4/WebM video files. It also parses JSON-embedded media URLs and HTML data attributes.
Many modern radio players load their stream URLs dynamically via JavaScript, which runs in your browser but not on our server. In that case, open the page in your browser, press F12, go to the Network tab, filter by "Media" or "XHR", and look for the stream URL there. You can then paste it directly into the tool.
Open the station or video page in your browser, right-click and choose "View Page Source" (Ctrl+U), select all the source code (Ctrl+A), copy it, and paste it into the text area. The extractor will scan the raw HTML for any embedded stream URLs.
M3U8 is a text-based playlist format used for HLS (HTTP Live Streaming). It is the most common format for adaptive bitrate streams on the web - used by TV channels, podcasts, and live radio. Once you extract the M3U8 URL you can open it in VLC, Kodi, or our Web Player.
These aggregators use token-protected API calls to hide their actual stream URLs, so direct URL extraction is often blocked. The tool includes specific handlers for TuneIn station pages and will attempt to resolve the stream URL via their OPML API. Results depend on the station's protection level.
Click the Play button next to any result to open it directly in our Web Player. You can also copy the URL and open it in VLC, Windows Media Player, Winamp, Kodi, or any media player that supports network streams. Use Export M3U to save all found streams as a playlist file.
Yes, the Streaming URL Extractor is completely free. No account, no install, and no limits on how many URLs you extract. It runs entirely in your browser for the paste/text mode, or on our server for the URL fetch mode.
Yes. If you paste a direct M3U8, MPD, MP3, AAC, or other stream URL into the URL field, the tool will immediately identify it and return it as a result - no page fetching needed. You can then play, copy, or export it straight away.
