Unfortunately, your definition of a "mirror" does provide me with any more clarity regarding how I should proceed.

Given what I want to achieve by downloading the K-Lite Codec Pack (see below), should I download the "mirror version" or the "regular standard version?"

Sorry, but I'm a real novice with all this technical stuff. (Thanks for your patience.)

A mirror is just an exact copy of a file that is located on a different file sever.

Earlier in this forum (on Nov. 19) I submitted a question which has not yet been answered...

Could someone please instruct me regarding which K-Lite Codec Pack I should install: the "mirror version" or the "regular standard version?"

Thanks!

I have one problem after installing this Codec pack. (2.44). I have some movies with WMV HD format. The movies is slow and there is no sound. If I uninstall the Codec Pack then my movie works fine again.

Any idea????

First, excellent work!

But, there is the problem, I have two PCs, a desktop and a laptop, both Windows XP home edition sp2. Before I download the K-Lite Codec Pack 2.33 Full onto my desktop, and the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.43 onto my laptop, every kind of player within the desktop can play XviD movies, while after the download, my DivX Player (downloaded from www.divx .com) doesn't work, it always says: it's a 4CC's XviD file, you need to install a new codec, etc. I installed XviD, DivX, SVCD codecs from www.divxmovie.com It seems no help at all. My laptop has the same problem, every player works except this DviX Player 6 from www.divx.com

Please help me on this! Anyone knows the reason why for that? and how to deal with it.

Thanks. Also, please tell me more in a little bit detail, I'm not good at computers.

For authors
1. Make CODEC pack only without MPC (it released more infrequently than codecs).
2. When do you include DivX ver.6?

Regretfully, I have one final question

I've already downloaded the K-Lite Codec Pack Standard version onto my desktop, but have not yet installed it.

I've since noticed that there is also a 'mirror' version available. If I simply want the Codec Pack to broaden the capabilities of my Windows Media Player, should I install the regular standard version or the mirror version? I've scoured the Internet in attempt to find out what a 'mirror' program is, but remain uncertain.

Once again, your assistance is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Could someone please clarify for me exactly what will happen after I download the K-Lite Codec Pack (standard version)? I'm using Windows XP Professional, which of course includes Windows Media Player (WMP). My goal is simply to be able to play .m4a audio files on my computer.

Once downloaded, does this codec pack "automatically" integrate with WMP (and any other media player on my computer) to permit the playing of this file format? (If I sound clueless on this issue… it’s because I am.) Many thanks for your clarification.
