Be aware that these files

Download Xvid Video Codec 1.3.2 - x86 & x64
and
Download Xvid Video Codec 1.4-127 - x86 & x64

...are x64 only (no matter what the descriptions say).

These two EXE files begin to run on x32...the program runs; then you select your language; then you get an error stating : "This program can only be installed on versions of Windows designed for the following processor architectures : x64

I had high hopes for this. It is supposed to work in XP, and to convert from PVA format to a more "PC Friendly" understandable mpeg2 stream. So I gotr it, unzipped it, and ran the GUI.

Simple GUI but usable.

BUT...when I try and use it...not so good. Every option that involves using the file, causes the program to die. I cannot :

"Get Info"
"Scan"
"Convert to PS"

Attempting any of these causes the program to get a standard windows error dialog. In short (too late) the program does not work in XP Pro, at least not in our home. I honestly doubt it was tested properly, as that requires running it on XP, Vista (eew), and Win 7 as well as anything else it has been ported to.

Had it actually been run in XP Pro, it would have died.

to convert a show that I recorded off of our digital box, every option (other than selecting a file) causes the program to fail and die.
