Real Alternative 2.0.2

I've been using media player classic for years, from sourceforge, and it's a good product. But after installing the latest version (1.44)from this site, I have the following problem: it crashes my wireless network every time it opens. It did this on my windows 2000 and windows xp computers. Worse, I tried uninstalling and installing the older version; and even going back to real player (yuk) - problem persists. Obviously it's modified something in my system that is not fixed by the uninstall. Has anyone else had this problem? Suggestions how to fix?

I has to try a few time before a real media actually play, if not i can just hear the sound with the screen freeze at the starting scene.

I think its great the there is a 'Real' alternative. Kudos to developers.

However, I believe that the REAL Real alternative is to boycott Real content. If we (and I mean us) refused to participate in broken mediums, like DRM, then they would go away.

Everytime you discover content that is only available in Real format, complain to the provider and refuse to participate.

It works well, except for when playing streaming media. It seems that it doesn't buffer long enough, and because of that it has to buffer several times for each clip. There are bandwidth setting but it seems that no matter what I set to it sets it self back to T1, which is to high. Is there anyway to change how long it buffers before playing, like in Real Player?

Well, it does exactly what it supposed to do, but in a multi-monitor environment I can only get it to work on monitor 1. On monitor 2 it frequently doesn't work.

I can't get this to work, Am I trying to convert the wrong type of files? .RAX is what I'm working on there the purchased music from Real.(grr hate them don't know why I bought from them. grr) Help me please....

Real Alternative 1.29-28-27

I liked the alternative concept but 2 things made me go back to realplayer :

-no advanced equalization

-maybe an exception, but i could not enjoy this player while maximizing or reducing windows. When doing it, i would hear each times brief interruptions...
Pity, because when not touching any windows, the reception is *perfect*, wich isn't the case of real that bleep at least 1 time per minute...i guess i'll try double screen and put realalternative on a dedicated screen ? hmhmhm...

Damn versions... I meant 1.29 doesnt work for me so I'm back to 1.28 which is great :D

Whenever I play a ram in 1.28, the sound stops after a few seconds/minute even though the download continues.
Oh and it still won't auto-install the plugins for Firefox :/

I was unable to load it because of a missing function in ddraw.dll. How can I contact the maker?

why can't players try to be original? this looks just like windows media player 8 and i hate the looks. also you cant help wondering overlapping issues. not to mention overwriting issues. it's a great idea tho to try to get rid of the horrid real player which sucks ass. real players is a horrible adware racket and ugly as hell. nuff said.
