IPTV Smart Purple Player is a free, ad-supported IPTV player for Android, Android TV and Fire TV that plays your own M3U playlist or Xtream login with a TV guide, catch-up, series and recording, and brings no channels of its own.

IPTV Smart Purple Player is a free Android app for watching the live TV channels, films and series that come with your IPTV subscription.

You add your provider's M3U playlist link or Xtream login, and the app builds a TV guide, a movie section and a series section from it.

It is no longer on Google Play and hasn't been updated since version 7.0.7 in July 2025, so read the notes below before you install it.

What IPTV Smart Purple Player Actually Does

The app is only a player. It comes with no channels, and the developer says so clearly, so everything you watch comes from the playlist or login you add.

  • Live TV with a guide. Browse channels by group and see what is on now and next.
  • Catch-up. Watch earlier programmes, if your provider offers catch-up.
  • Films and series. Separate sections for on-demand content, with seasons and episodes.
  • Multi-screen. Watch several channels at once on one TV.
  • Scheduled recording, favourites and parental control with a PIN.
  • Choice of player engine. Switch between ExoPlayer, VLC and IJK if a channel stutters or won't start.
  • Subtitles, dual audio and casting for streams that carry them.

It works on Android phones and tablets, Android TV boxes and Amazon Fire TV devices. The app shows ads, with a paid option inside the app to remove them.

Before You Install: It Is No Longer Maintained

The app was removed from Google Play in May 2026, and its last update was version 7.0.7 in July 2025. It still installs and plays, but it will not get fixes if a future Android update or a provider change breaks something.

If you are choosing a player today, pick a maintained one.

TiviMate is the favourite on Android TV, and IPTV Smarters Pro handles the same M3U and Xtream logins on phones and TV boxes.

Use IPTV Smart Purple Player if your provider's setup guide asks for it by name, or if you already know it and like how it works.

How to Install the APK

  1. Check your Android version. Version 7.0.7 needs Android 5.1 or newer.
  2. Download the APK from our download page to your phone, TV box or Fire TV.
  3. Allow the install. Android asks you to let your browser or file manager install unknown apps - allow it for that app only.
  4. Expect a Play Protect warning. Because the app is no longer on Google Play, Android may show a warning, so read it before you continue.
  5. Open the app and add a playlist. Choose M3U URL or Xtream login and enter the details from your provider.

Not sure the file is what it says it is? Scan it with our APK Checker before installing. Play Check tells you whether an app still needs Google Play services to run.

M3U Link or Xtream Login?

Providers hand out access in one of two ways. An M3U link is a single web address that lists every channel, while an Xtream login is a server address with a username and password.

The Xtream login usually brings the TV guide, films and series in automatically, so use it if your provider gives you both. Our guides explain what an M3U file is and how Xtream Codes logins differ from M3U links.

To test a playlist before adding it, run it through IPTV Checker. You can also make your own with our Playlist Builder.

Is It Legal?

The app itself is a legal player, in the same way a web browser is. What matters is the playlist you put into it.

Channels from a licensed provider or free public broadcasters are fine. Cheap "everything included" subscriptions often are not, and our guide on whether IPTV is legal explains how to tell the difference.

Quick questions

Is IPTV Smart Purple Player free?

Yes, the app is free and shows ads. There is an in-app purchase to remove the ads, and you still need your own IPTV playlist or subscription.

Does it come with channels?

No. It only plays the M3U playlist or Xtream login you add.

Why can't I find it on Google Play?

It was removed from Google Play in May 2026. The APK on our download page is the last release, version 7.0.7.

Does it work on Fire TV Stick?

Yes. Install the APK with a downloader app and allow unknown apps for it in the Fire TV settings.

A channel won't play. What can I try?

Switch the player engine in the settings, for example from ExoPlayer to VLC. If the channel fails in every engine, the stream itself is down.

Is it still safe to use?

The last release came from the original developer, Purple Smart TV LLC. Because it gets no more security fixes, scan any download with our APK Checker and prefer a maintained player for daily use.
