Cool converter, fast speed, easy to use, many formats including bluray file can be available to convert.
Been using WinAVI for almost 4 years, along with K-Lite codec pack mega. Can zoom to remove black title bars, adjust color & volume level in the Adjustment section.
Tried Nero,IMToo,Xilisoft,TVC & many others but WinAVI's SPEED is the FASTEST.Version 8-UNBEATABLE!
WINAVI Really is the top video converter you can buy or download through a torrent. :)
it really is the best convertert out there.
and if your having problems you just doing something wrong,
because this is so simple to use your granma could do it.
i have tried other programs and always been shocked at just how slow other programs have been, and ive always found myself running back to winavi.
cause i just know it is the best one.
and converts avi to dvd like a dream.
and then simply burn it with nero. its the perfect converter.
Nice and fast, Good quality. Easy to use.
Idiot proof. well just depends on the idiot i suppose. :)

Finally an update after 2 long years!
V10.0 nice update but I miss a lot of options and thats a bit disappointed.
bad:
* Encode mode: cant sellect output size anymore
* Cant sellect external codecs by Splitter/Video/Audio anymore
Good: More DVD author options
Overall conclusion:
Less options!
version 8.0 is still master!
this nuts works, and it's not free, freeloaders. I love the program, why can't u use ur own dvd burner if u have one and stop being so dam cheap and expect the program to do everything for u, thats the problem with kids today they expect to get thingy sucked and shined at the drop of a dime shame on u!

This program totaly SUCKS!!!!!!!!!
Cannot talk to live person and it takes 3 days to get a response back form tech support. It seems to convert, but will not play back on dvd player.
it worked 1st time for about 15 minutes and stop. then program constantly close due to error signature. what a scam.
The program is junk I get "Invalid DVD Directory" when I try to use the built in burner. No problems prior, and there are no errors in the AVI-VOB! Pure non-sense.
I can't convert a splitted real media files it say that i need the real media codec v9 or higher. How do i get it??

This isn't free.
Why is this program here? The program costs $30, otherwise it pastes a huge watermark on the video.
Bizarre, are all these reviews fake?
i did not finish testing it jet but winnydows updates praclicly evry month
and still, thirty minutes is quitet long i think to convert a video.
anyways the only people with good comments on other sites are probably the makers of the product
hello, can anybody tell me why my preview movie is green in winavi converter? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for your help...
I'm going back to version 7.7
8.0 quits before finishing avi - dvd conversion. No warnings, no errors messages.
whenever there is a scene change the picture jumps... if i wanted jumpy dvd's i would by pirates but when it is my dvd......
Well anyone here have problems with playing back Mpeg1 and Mpeg2 without it lagging? I have a terrible time sometime with the synching or it catching up.

I have to agree with lurkey
I love the program however winavi seems to just quit without any reason or any error codes. when encoding with winavi version 8
the program starts just fine then quits for no apparent reason. Is there a fix for windows xp? I am getting frustrated with your software
for two reasons.
1. There is apparently no known fix.
2. I use windows xp x64 and all 32bit programs work fine. But there is a problem with your software and I purchased your software
it is becoming outdated, with no updates of any kind. Is zjmedia even supporting the software?
If not then I want a refund.
i cant understand some people...true winavi is a good converter and speedy but only for the novice....
lets face it its a pile of nuts for batch converting..
who sed it dont work on dual core?
especially to the person who sed it dont work on quad core..get a life ..if u can afford a quad core then buy the dvd...
winavi is good for the now and agin converter....but crap for the heavy user
I SEEM TO BE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH USING CHAPTERS ON MY DVD PLAYER I SET THEM UP IN THE OPTIONS BUT WHEN I GO TO SELECT A SCENE ITS FREZZES OR SKIP AHEAD.... CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IT IS IM DOING WRONG ITS PISSIN ME OFF
i have a quad core...program takes longer to convert 5x 40min RMVB file than ver. 7.6 ...
- the converting display is wrong all the time, i have chapter 21-25 converting, but the source would say ch 25 from start to end...very strange...
- the chapter time has a max of 900 sec = 15 min

I tried WinAVI 8 and I think WinAVI 6.3 is more stable. I did notice some stuff with version 8 that was better but overall I say I'm going back down to 6.3 :)
Overall a lot better than several other program I tried. I am still however in the process of accessing stability.
* Simple to use but fairly powerful.
* Very fast. Easily the fastest converter and the quality is excellent.
* It does NOT support dual core. It works, but only uses 50% of cpu potential. However it is STILL faster than any other program, including programs that utilize 100% cpu on dual core machines!
If anyone has crash problems, try changing the decoders it uses and for if its jumping on playback on any given DVD player, try reducing the bit rate.
Perfect for me I only use Winavi if I can't upload a video on stage 6 and lower the MB fastest converter ever. I haven't tried the other options yet.
This program just SUCKS ... It crashes more times than a nascar rookie. WHEN it works, it is good, BUT it works so RARELY that it is not worth the bother. Batch convert - won't ... AVI to DVD sometimes works - as long as you don't want to convert more than ONE file AT A TIME !!! Output files are not always completed, making the ENTIRE OUTPUT USELESS !!!!
Don't waste your time - OR your money ......
recently I upgrade to version 8.o from 6.3
the subtitle is permanently burn, and can't be hide. during playback on dvd player the video hang, ill just pause it and play it again in order to continue, and ill try the defferent avi file to convert to dvd thinking that the video has a defect or the dvd disc has a scratch but it have the same result. video hang and play like it have a scratch on the disc.
I got a version 6.6 and have no problenm except the burning by the built in burner in this software, and I usually use nero in burning the vob file, and it play perfectly on a player.
recently I upgraded to Version 8.0 and have the same rate of speed in converting to DVD, but when I burn it with DVd and play in other player the it keep stopping like it have a scratch on cd.ill pause it and play again, just to continue ..I try to convert again and avi file, thinking the the defect on cd but it have the same result, I use nero in burning the vob file, theres any patch on it
I need a step by step of what to do here i convert the avi to dvd but then i dont know how to burn it someone please explain so i can underdstand what to do to burn it,, i have tried but it didnt work on the tv it pops up as a brief viewing of what looks like a folder then nohting and it doesnt play am i doing it right or is there another way plz tell me thanks
Great program, but PLEASE PLEASE HELP me, whenever i convert to dvd, i dont get any sound from the movie at ALL!!! what am i doing wrong please help, any hekp would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for any help ..
