Samsung just released an emergency security update to fix a serious vulnerability that hackers are actively using to break into Samsung phones.
If you own a Samsung Android device, you need to update immediately.
The problem is in something called libimagecodec.quram.so - a library that processes images on your Samsung phone.
When you receive or open certain image files, this vulnerability lets hackers take complete control of your device without you knowing.
libimagecodec.quram.so is built by a Korean company called Quramsoft and handles various image formats on Samsung devices.
The flaw affects all modern Samsung phones running Android 13, 14, 15, and 16 - which covers millions of devices worldwide.
Samsung confirmed that criminals are already using this exploit in real attacks.
"An exploit for this issue has existed in the wild", the company stated, meaning your phone could be at risk right now.
The attack works when you receive malicious images through texts, emails, or messaging apps.
Once the corrupted image is processed by libimagecodec.quram.so, hackers can install malware, steal your data, or spy on your activities.
