if you encounter problems to install it under Seven (for ex), try the method explained at this url (http://granjow .net/virtualdub-tutorial-installing.html) -- this worked fine for me :)

I use lame mp3 audio with mpeg4 avi,The interleave is very good

LAME ACM codec cannot be used with my PVR software, since the recorded AVI cannot be played.

This codec caused an error when used in virtual dub VCR. There was an "access violation" error when I selected "compression" from the "audio" pull down menu. The error does not appear now that I have uninstalled the LAME codec. This is dissapointing because I lke the LAME codec, and I use it for audiograbber.
