Yep - works a treat on Windows 7 - IF you use custom install and uncheck the Web Browser box.
How exactly do you do a custom install of this?

Doesn't install on XP
The setup app runs in seconds, but when I try to run an application I still get the message that I dont have the codec
Just do what the comment below says.
Select custom install
then
Disable the web plug-in (It is the last checkbox).
Worked the first time.
Will not install. I wind up waiting 20-30 minutes at the "Searching for instances of Netscape. Please wait..." screen before getting frustrated and quitting the installation.
This would not install. The Setup program ran, and so did an iv50install program. The problem is that they just ran in the background with no windows. System Internals Process Explorer sees the processes, but reports no windows are available to bring to the forground. So all one can do is start the installation, then kill it with task manager or something. So it just won't install on my XP/SP2 dual CPU system
disable the web browser component like he said... it runs smoothly in xp... thanks for this free codec...
This breaks NVDVD application.
After installing cannot play DVDs on NVDVD 2.0 - get error "Unable to find the NVIDIA Audio Decoder. This Application will only run with NVIDIA decoders."
Unable to uninstall this codec, and reinstalling NVDVD doesn't solve.
deenem's suggestion of disabling web browser component to allow installation under win xp worked for me. GSpot reports the 5.11 codec as being installed. Still can't manage to play the game i was trying to use though; but this may well not be the fault of the codec...
I'm trying to install indeo ligos video software to enable me use my interractive study cd but could not install.
Installed in XP by choosing Custom option and disabling Web Browser component. That way the installed didn't hang while searching for browser
I've got some older video clips that I believe need an Indeo codec to play. I tried downloading this and it doesn't install correctly. I use Windows XP. Found some earlier versions of the codec and I get a message before installing that it's not compatible with my system. Anyone out there have a free download link for Indeo XP? Or any suggestion on how/where to get earlier versions installed? Any info would be great.
