Monica AI is an Android assistant that puts chat models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google in one app for chat, search, writing, translation and image creation, free within a daily quota, with paid Pro, Max and Ultra plans beyond it.
Monica AI puts several of the big AI chat models in one Android app, so you can ask GPT, Claude and Gemini without installing three apps.
The app is free to install and free to use within a daily limit, and paid plans lift those limits.
Whether it is worth paying for depends on one thing: how often you really switch between AI models.
What Monica AI Actually Does
Monica is an assistant app from Butterfly Effect Pte. Ltd. that works as a front end for models made by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others. The current Google Play listing names GPT-5.4 Pro, Claude 4.6 Sonnet and Gemini 3.1 Pro among them.
- Chat and voice chat with a choice of models, plus a mode that shows several models' answers side by side.
- Search with summaries. Ask a question and get a summarised answer from web results.
- Writing help. Templates for emails, posts and more, with adjustable tone.
- Translation, including real-time voice translation.
- Image and video creation from a text prompt, with tight limits on the free plan.
- Memo. A personal notebook where you save chats, pages and files for the AI to refer back to later.
Your Monica account also works in its browser extension and desktop apps, so chats follow you across devices. The Android app shows no ads.
What You Get for Free
The free plan gives you a daily allowance of chats with the basic models, plus summaries, translation and writing tools. Advanced models and image or video generation are limited to a handful of uses before the app asks you to upgrade.
If you mostly chat with one AI, the free official apps usually give you more. ChatGPT and Le Chat from Mistral both offer generous free chat without a middleman.
Where the Paywall Starts
Monica sells three paid plans: Pro, Max and Ultra. Pro raises the monthly allowance for basic and advanced models, Max makes basic-model chat unlimited, and Ultra is for heavy daily use of the top models.
Prices start at around $8 a month on yearly billing, and monthly billing costs more. Plans and prices change often, so check Monica's pricing page before you buy.
The quick maths.
If you would otherwise pay for two or more AI subscriptions, a Monica plan can work out cheaper. If you only use one model, paying that company directly usually gets you more for the money.
Where Monica Beats a Single AI App
The real selling point is comparison. Asking the same question to two or three models and picking the best answer is useful for research and for writing where tone matters.
Memo is the other strength. Saving pages, chats and files into one place that the AI can search later is handier than scrolling back through separate chat histories.

Installing the APK
Monica needs Android 8.0 or newer and an internet connection. If you have Google Play, install it from there so it updates itself.

Monica's Google Play data-safety section says it collects personal and device information and shares some data types with third parties. Avoid typing passwords, card numbers or confidential work into any AI assistant.
