This tool is especially useful for those who need to clear AVI files of GMC and Qpel functions and prepare them for creating discs for standalone DVD players.

With AVI ReComp you can also embed subtitles into your videos (burnt in subtitles). ASS and SSA subtitles options such as color and position can be easily changed and you can add black borders and place your subtitles on them.

During reconversion, you can change the resolution and the aspect ratio of your video clip. You also have the possibility of converting all the audio streams in your movie by choosing various bitrates and encoding modes (VBR, ABR, and CBR).

As for the formats AVI ReComp supports, you can work with AVI files with the following audio formats: MP3, AC3, DTS and OGG. The subtitle formats that AVI ReComp offers support for are TXT, SUB, SRT, ASS and SSA.

AVI ReComp offers support for batch operation, which means you can perform the same task on multiple files at the same time.

The application works fast and it takes only minutes to recompress and AVI file. Quality is slightly affected, but those unfamiliar with such details don’t sense any difference. AVI ReComp doesn’t tell you how much you have to wait until the recompression is finished, but it completes the task fast enough for you not to get too anxious.
