All five Ice Age movies are now streaming on Netflix worldwide, but only for three months - a warm-up for Ice Age: Boiling Point, which reaches cinemas in February.

The films arrived on 4 October as part of a new licensing deal between Disney and Netflix.

They are not leaving Disney+, so you can now watch them on either service.

Here is what is included, when it leaves Netflix and what we know about the sixth film.

Which Ice Age Movies Are on Netflix

  • Ice Age (2002)
  • Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006)
  • Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)
  • Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)
  • Ice Age: Collision Course (2016)

That is every Ice Age film made for cinemas so far. The Disney+ spin-off The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is not part of the deal.

According to Reuters, the films stay on Netflix for three months, which points to early January. Netflix has not named an exact last day yet, so do not leave the marathon for the holidays.

Ice Age: Boiling Point - What We Know

  • Release date: 5 February 2027 in US cinemas, with other countries around the same time. It was moved from December 2026 to avoid clashing with Avengers: Doomsday.
  • The story: in the first teaser, a volcano blasts the herd into parts of the Lost World nobody has seen before. Scrat is back too, with a baby Scrat.
  • The voices: Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah and Simon Pegg all return as Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and Buck.
  • New studio: it is the first cinema Ice Age not made by Blue Sky Studios, which Disney closed in 2021, and Buck Wild director John Donkin is in charge.

It is the first new Ice Age in cinemas since 2016. After its cinema run, expect it on Disney+ rather than Netflix.

What Quality Will You Get?

Disney has not said which video formats the new film will use when it streams, and studios rarely do. What matters more is how your streaming service delivers it.

Netflix already sends about 30 percent of its viewing in AV1, a newer video format that needs about a third less data than older ones, according to Netflix. Most TVs and streaming sticks made since 2021 support it.
