Pippit is an AI app from ByteDance, the company behind CapCut, that turns a short text prompt, a product photo or a web link into a ready-made video or image.
It is built for marketing content - product demos, social ads, talking-avatar clips - rather than for editing your own holiday footage.
The app is free to install and comes with free daily credits, but every generation spends credits, and serious use quickly points you toward a paid plan.
Take the arm64-v8a file for almost any phone made in the last few years. Both files are XAPK bundles, so you need a split-APK installer rather than a plain tap-to-install.
What Pippit Actually Does - in Plain Terms
You describe what you want, and Pippit's AI agents build it. The Video Agent makes a short video from a prompt, a link to a product page or a few uploaded photos and brand assets.
The Image Agent makes images from short prompts, and there are smaller tools around it. Those include background removal, turning a still photo into a looping animation and digital avatars that read your script aloud.
The heavy lifting happens on ByteDance's servers using several AI models, including ByteDance's own Seedream for images and Seedance for video. That means it needs a good internet connection, and nothing is generated on the phone itself.
What Is Free and What Costs Money
Pippit runs on credits. The free plan tops you up with a small allowance of credits every day, and each video or image you generate uses some of them.
Paid plans - Starter, Plus and Pro - give a much larger monthly credit allowance, faster generation, access to more advanced AI models and watermark removal. You can also buy credit packs one at a time inside the app.
Because the paid plans list watermark removal as a feature, expect free exports to carry a Pippit watermark. Check a test export before you post anything, and look at the current prices inside the app, since they change often and differ by country.
| Free plan | Paid plans | |
|---|---|---|
| Credits | Small daily allowance | Large monthly allowance, plus extra packs |
| Watermark | Expect one on exports | Removed |
| Speed | Standard queue | Faster generation |
| AI models | Standard models | Advanced models included |
| Good for | Trying it out, the odd test clip | Regular ads and product videos |
Which File to Download
The download page carries version 1.0.7 in two builds, one for each type of Arm processor. Both need Android 6.0 or newer.
| File | Processor | Pick it if |
|---|---|---|
Pippit_1.0.7_arm64-v8a.xapk |
64-bit Arm | You have a phone or tablet from roughly the last six years - this is almost everyone |
Pippit_1.0.7_armeabi-v7a.xapk |
32-bit Arm | Your device is old or a budget model and the 64-bit file will not install |
There is no build for Intel x86 Android devices, so Chromebooks and emulators running x86 are out.
Installing the XAPK Safely
An XAPK is a bundle that holds the app plus extra pieces it needs, and Android's own installer cannot open it. You need a split-APK installer app that unpacks the bundle and installs the parts together.
Our guide to installing an APK safely on Android covers allowing installs from unknown sources, and what to switch back off afterwards.
Before you install, our APK Checker reads the package name, signature and permissions straight out of a file. The Play Store dependency check tells you whether the app expects Google Play services in the background.
Pippit or CapCut
The two come from the same company and look related, but they do different jobs. CapCut for Android is a video editor - you bring your own clips and cut them together on a timeline.
Pippit is a generator - you bring an idea, a link or a product shot, and it makes the clip for you. If you already film your own footage, CapCut does more for free, and CapCut Pad gives you the same editor laid out for a tablet.
Who Should Look Elsewhere
If you mainly want to trim, caption and share videos you shot yourself, Pippit is the wrong tool. The tell is simple: if your first step is opening your camera roll rather than typing a description, you want an editor.
- InShot is a quick editor for short social clips, with a watermark on exports unless you upgrade.
- Snapseed is Google's free photo editor, with no credits and no subscription.
- Hypic covers retouching, background cutouts and AI art in one app.
- Image Toolbox is open source and handles background removal and format conversion offline.
Want to fix up an old blurry photo rather than make a new one? Remini is built for that. For proper light and colour work, Adobe Lightroom for Android is the stronger editor.
If you only need help writing the script or caption for your post, a general AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Copilot may be all you need.
And if you film product clips yourself and want better source footage to work with, Blackmagic Camera gives you full manual control on supported phones.
Privacy and Content Rules
Everything you upload - product photos, brand logos, face shots for avatars - goes to ByteDance's servers to be processed. Read the privacy policy inside the app before you upload anything you would not want stored elsewhere.
Apple rates the iPhone version 18+, mainly because it gives open access to AI-generated and user-generated content. It is not an app to hand to a child.
Quick questions
Is Pippit free?
It is free to install and the free plan gives you a small amount of credits every day. Larger allowances, faster generation, advanced models and watermark-free exports need a paid plan or credit packs.
Who makes Pippit?
ByteDance, the company behind CapCut and TikTok. The app store listing names Bytedance Pte. Ltd. as the developer.
Why will the file not install when I tap it?
Both files here are XAPK bundles, which Android's built-in installer cannot open. Use a split-APK installer app, and see our APK install guide for the safe way to do it.
Which file is right for my phone?
The arm64-v8a file fits nearly every phone from the last several years. Take armeabi-v7a only if your device is old and the 64-bit file refuses to install.
Is Pippit the same as CapCut?
No. Same company, different job. CapCut edits your own videos, while Pippit generates new videos and images from prompts, links and photos.
Does Pippit work offline?
No. All the generation happens on ByteDance's servers, so it needs an internet connection the whole time.
