Regarding the output format, the VIA HD Audio Codec can boast with 4 Stereo DACs Support 24-bit, 192KHz Samples; 2 Stereo ADCs Support 24-bit, 192KHz Samples; 8-Channels of DAC Support 16/20/24-bit PCM Format for 7.1 Audio Solution; 16/20/24 bit S/PDIF TX Supports 24-bit, 44.1K/48K/96KHz Samples; 16/20/24 bit S/PDIF RX Supports 24-bit, 44.1K/48K/96KHz Samples; DAC with 100dB S/N ratio and ADC with 95dB S/N ratio.
The added-on function includes high-quality differential CD input, analog CD input path for compatibility and HPF in ADC path for DC removal.
The low power consumption is possible due to the power management and enhanced power saving features, to the EPAD (External Amplifier Power Down) support and to the 3.3 V digital and the 3.3/5.0 V analog.
The 48-Pin LQFP VIA HD Audio Codec package is compatible with the VIA VT1618 8-Channel AC'97 codec.
