The same video occupies seven times less memory space compared to a CD.
At the same time, by installing XVid;-) to your computer, you will enjoy a good quality of the videos.
Not developed anymore since 2005
, XVid;-) can still offer you some valuable features:
auto-playing movies by playlist, collecting information about video files to playlist, an intuitive interface, displaying movies in window and fullscreen, zooming video window, auto-playing movies by playlist, displaying transparent and framed subtitles, auto-breaking long lines for subtitles, centering text lines, loading subtitles in TMP and MicroDVD formats, and a recently opened movies list that can be easily modified.
XVid;-) can be controlled using various methods: command line, keyboard, external controllers such as joysticks, and third-party applications.
The last versions of XVid;-) featured the following improvements: changed tooltips color to system color, improved subtitles auto loading and auto selecting, improved switching to monitor with TVTool at program closing, improved displaying playlist in any resolution and so on.
A few limitations of this player include the lack of the drag and drop file opening method, not opening DivX files, not being able to move from one point to the other of the video and not playing movies automatically after loading.
XVid;-) could use come improvements, but still it can impress you with features such as subtitle customization, hotkeys and setting the path top TVTool exe.
A basic and rather incomplete application, it can be useful to some categories of users if they are interested specifically in the customization options that XVid;-) does offer.
The DivX format’s main advantage is saving disk space.
