GridPlayer is a free, open-source player built on VLC that puts many videos or live streams on screen at once in a resizable grid, so you can watch several camera feeds, compare takes, or keep an eye on multiple streams in a single window.
Normal media players show one video at a time. GridPlayer shows as many as you like at once, laid out in a grid you can resize and rearrange, which makes it a simple way to watch several camera feeds, monitor multiple live streams, or compare different videos side by side in a single window.
It is free, open-source, and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Under the hood it uses VLC Media Player, so it plays the same wide range of formats VLC does without needing extra codecs.
What GridPlayer Actually Does
You drop in videos or stream links, and GridPlayer tiles them into a grid. Each tile is an independent player you can play, pause, mute, or seek on its own, and you can drag tiles around to arrange the layout however suits the job.

Watching Live Streams
Beyond local files, GridPlayer opens streaming URLs, and it uses streamlink together with yt-dlp to pull streams from a huge range of sites. If you prefer a point-and-click way to work with yt-dlp on its own, YTDLP-Interface wraps it in a simple window.
Because playback runs through VLC, the same streams that play in VLC will play here, just several at once.
If a Video Won't Play
Since GridPlayer relies on VLC's built-in decoders, most files just work.
