CorePNG is a lossless codec using the PNG format in order to compress video contents.
Each frame is compressed as PNG and additionally, the codec writes P frames.
These frames detect the difference between the previous frame and the current one and encode it as PNG.
CorePNG was designed to work with subtitles and it is an excellent choice for compressing cartoons.
In some cases, it can do a better job than HuffYUV and Loco.
The last update of CorePNG was in 2008 and the final version runs in Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
