IsoPuzzle 1.7 beta

IsoPuzzle helps you recover data from damaged or scratched discs.

Regardless of what type of disc you use, CD or DVD, or the cause of the errors (scratches, wear and tear, bad burning, etc.), with IsoPuzzle your chances of recovering the missing information are higher.

Before installing this application to your computer, you need to know that IsoPuzzle only works with CDs and DVDs with 2048 bytes sectors, which means that Audio CDs, VCD and SVCD are not supported.

IsoPuzzle’s interface is simple enough for anyone to understand how to use the data recovery application, even if no help file is available.

Regarding on how IsoPuzzle works, the readable data on the disc is stored in ISO image files which can be read with programs such as Daemon Tools or WinRar, as long as you have an ISO plugin as well.

Sectors which have been read successfully are stored in the ISO file and marked as “good” in the corresponding FLG file. Sectors which could not be read successfully are marked as “bad”. When the entire disc is read, a retry loop will be completed so more sectors are read.

After the disc is scanned, users need to create a copy of the disc by selecting the source and the destination folder. A suggestion that the developers of IsoPuzzle make is trying to read the damaged disc on different drives, as one drive can read sectors which are not recognizable for another one. The data recovery process can last from several minutes to a few hours, depending on the amount of information that needs to be recovered.

IsoPuzzle is recommended to anyone needing to recover data from DVDs and data CDs; although the process may require a lot of patience from your part, this is one of the best options available in case of damaged discs.

Important Note:

- You need a working ASPI layer on your system! IsoPuzzle 1.4 has been tested with the newest version of WNASPI32.DLL of Nero AG ().
Put the WNASPI32.dll together to Your IsoPuzzle.exe folder Do not copy it into Your system folders!
