Nightingale 1.13a

Nightingale is a fork of Songbird media player. Songbird's development has been discontinued.

What makes this application special is its cross platform which supports plug-ins; Nightingale can be extended and adjusted according to your needs.

Nightingale’s interface is very similar to that of iTunes, which makes it very easy to use by anyone who is familiar with iTunes. The Pick Feathers option allows you to switch between two different themes: Rubberducky and Dove.

One of the most important aspects about Nightingale is its ability to play almost any audio format, including MP3, OGG, AAC, FLAC, WMA and many others. Aside from playing tacks stored on your computer memory, Nightingale is able to render music from iTunes and Last.fm and it can import music from any selected folder.

The main features of Nightingale are its smart playlsists, the GStreamer, the built-in web browser, the multi-language support, the automatic updates, the library management system, the custom user interface, and the developer support.

Nightingale is easy to control no matter what application you are currently working in, due to global hotkeys. Its only limitation seems to be the fact it doesn’t support podcasts.

Other features you can enjoy with Nightingale are organizing and filtering your music, editing ID3 tags, having new files added to the library automatically, listening to radio stations, and selecting between various encryption protocols. Nightingale downloads album art and it organizes your music in an accessible catalog.

Nightingale is an advanced application allowing you to get the most out of your music and encouraging anyone to customize its features. Extremely versatile, offering a wide range of features and displaying an elegant interface, Nightingale is the perfect choice if you want more than just an average audio player.
