I have download Realtek HD Audio CODEC at least 5x only to find their is no driver component in the driver download.
Come on guys when we ask for a driver we expect to get one, not go around in circles looking for the right download group to have a driver. Is false advertising.

My Realtek sound card won't record in stereo mix! I tried everything, including downloading drivers. What's really sad is my other computer is 5 yrs. old and it runs stereo mix perfectly.
When you pay for new software, the idea is that you get useful new features but this is the exact opposite. Realtek is truly a disappointment

The people who says its great are prolly the people who works for them (the realtek idiots).Falsely promoting their product. My computer crashes everytime cuz of it! Until a very good quality audio comes out and provides it for the next 20yrs...I would recommend everyone in the world to use it and support them!

Really! How can be this drivers so bad? I cant believe they cant write a proper SIMPLE driver to work with. The previous versions just worked right under xp, out of the box. Just because they had 5 year to make it work! :D
But under windows7, you dont want to know how frakkin bad it is! If you want win7 and have realtek codec, you will be very, very sad about the sound quality!! Yes, i am very sad right now, it has so much bug, and the sound is really weird...
I have to use asio to listen any music, because without that its popping and creaking. Tried everything but nothing helps.
Thinking about buying a REAL sound card...

There are a few reviewers here that keep saying it's good or "the best around", "it has been working perfect for me. can't survive without it." they're repeated people who just say nuts for a 5 without really having the product.
Here's the low down on this,
Recording is messed up. It's just complete garbage. Recording properly is impossible with this.
Sounds are a bit weird. How did some companies get messed up with this? Maybe because they were cheaper to work with.
You wanna know why I came here to download the codec? Their website does not work properly and prevents me from downloading the codec straight from their site. Call whoever/whatever gave you the computer with this, and demand something. You've wasted time and money with this. I had bought two microphones because of this, thinking that my first one was broken. Upon using the second, I knew it was this d**n Realtek garbage.

I'm amazed anyone can get Realtek audio drivers to work at all. I have a Dell Studio XPS 450T/9000 which is saddled with Realtek devices for audio, and they will not work with any form of XP. I've done all the drivers, rebooted, reinstalled, removed, re-reinstalled . . . dead. Then I pop in an old Soundblaster Audigy card and voila- works right out of the gate with no hassles. My instinct tells me to avoid motherboards using Realtek systems, especially since there are a LOT of forums out there citing problems with no solutions with their garbage.

My mobile computer Toshiba Satellite A110 with REALTEK drivers has more audio issues than anyone should ever have to deal with straight out of the box. Toshiba technical support finally admit, "these are the limitations of the computer you purchased, lf you don't like it, take it back!" Can you imagine... how moral is this? l am tired after doing all this research. ln order to have people capable of hearing me on mic and myself hearing even loud audio output, l have to work harder than their tech support. lt has been very disturbing to come across help such as suggestions that a set of external laptop speakers with a power supply of there own, on a MOBiLE Computer should work.
l am fully aware the problem here is not just realtek, lt ls also toshiba's fault for not labeling the box as junk audio, can't hear anything, not even windows startup sound very well. Until realtek/toshiba ""VlCTlMS"" are offered new drivers and more than likely, new speakers so the new drivers can be supported, this problem is only going to get worse by removing the .dat files. l have already noticed removing the .dat files has caused my audio input(mic) quality to go scratchy and static sounding. On top of this, after removing the .dat files, my audio output fluctuates at least once DAlLY. (ie. kicks in high and then low audio output. AND l'm not talking about a bad headset/mlc or set of speakers. These are the "limitations" of this awful machine.) This is a serious issue and misrepresentation!
Everyone that owns a pc with these realtek issues should get together and maybe finally get the proper outcome we deserve.
