The Codecs 5.0

Its main advantages are the small size and the low amount of system resources it needs.

The Codecs doesn’t feature any unnecessary files or tools that could slow down your computer. You just have to install it to your computer and enjoy your favorite movies hassle free.

This application doesn’t have an interface, like most codecs, and you will notice it works by simply playing your video files.

Nevertheless, if you want to have access to the tools that The Codecs has installed to your computer, there is a dedicated entry in the “Start Menu”, called “Theorica Divx ;-) Codecs”. Access this entry and you will view the summary. Another solution is opening the “readme.txt” file found in the original archive.

Here are the codecs and filters included in this reliable and compact pack: Divx (6) Free: 6.0.0.1571, DivX MPEG-4 Video (Fast&Low): 4.1.0.3920, XviD Koepi's build: 1.1.0 Beta 2, the ffdshow filter, Intel I.263 Video Driver: 2.55.1.14, AC3Filter (Audio): 1.0.1.0, MPEG Layer-3 Audio Codec: 1.2.0.63, InterVideo Audio Decoder: 1.0.0.1, Moonlight Odio Dekoda: 1.2.3.0, Ogg Vorbis Filter: 0.9.9.5, MM Stream Switcher: 0.9.9.0 and Huffyuv lossless video codec: 2.2.0.1.

The Codecs has not been developed anymore since 2006, and its last version, The Codecs 5.0, featured an updated new version of codecs for the DivX format and an updated install script and compiler to change packaging.

The Codecs is that kind of reliable, “no-nonsense” codec pack which ensures optimal playback of your favorite movies without affecting your computer’s performance. Just install it to your computer and let it do its job.
