Nero AAC Codec helps you convert audio files to the MP4 file format using a command line interface.

In order to access this application, you need to use the command prompt program or the “Run” command from the Microsoft Windows Start Menu.

If you prefer a graphical user interface, install LameXP on your computer.

The fact that you need to use a command line interface should not discourage you.

Nero AAC Codec comes with guidelines which show you how to work with the application and its three components: the encoder, the decoder and the metadata editor.

The main reason for converting your audio contents into MP4 files is saving disk space. Audio files are compressed so you play them on mobile devices.

This tool works with WAV files created using the PCM format. During conversion, you can change the target bitrate and the encoding mode.

The MP4 files can be personalized by adding covers and various media information, just by using text commands.

You can benefit from the reverse process as well, that is inputting MPEG files and obtaining PCM wave files by using the decoder.

A major advantage of this program is the low amount of resources it requires.

Even if it doesn’t need too much to function, the Nero AAC Codec has a satisfying conversion speed. One minute of audio in the WAV file format is converted in a second.

The quality of the output is very good and you will barely sense any difference.

It may look like the Nero AAC Codec is suitable rather for advanced users, but even if you are not very familiar with command line applications, it doesn’t mean that you can't install a GUI and start using this helpful and effective piece of software.
