It properly handles VBR MP3 files, returning the correct VBR MP3 file duration and can parse MP3 files with non-MP3 data such as ID3/APE tags unlike the standard MPEG-I Stream Splitter filter that reports incorrect VBR MP3 file duration and fails to recognise some MP3 files with non-MP3 data as proper MP3 files, hence failing to open them altogether.
