K-Lite Code Pack is a SOB !!

This Baby is so fast , light , and it runs almost everything. No way ho zay any other media player could match it. K lite ROCKS from the very first day it was launched. I love it !!!

Have used K Lite Codec Pack for years, and LOVED IT!! However, I upgraded to 9.7.5 a few weeks ago. The audio randomly starts being slightly off from the video in pretty much every format that I use.

I've gone to options, but any tweak I do only fixes the problem for a few seconds...then it's like a badly dubbed movie again, the lips are moving, but the audio either isn't keeping up or is a little ahead.

Could not view ordinary DVD on windows(xp) media player.
Downloaded the k-lite codec pack basic.

Installed all default setting, no problem.

Media player now runs DVDs perfectly. Thank you.

As far as I can tell, no virus, adware, scams or other crap.

I have used this codec and its media player from years ago..
And i like the fast loading file, fast buffer, etc.

maybe its good idea, i hope the media player classic have some skins that can change like winamp.

I am very pleased with the speed and completeness of the codec pack. I had a few problems with various players, the codec pack eliminated every issue instantly. Great job.

I wish to express my thanks. I just downloaded the standard codec pack, installed it for media player 11. It worked the first time with no problems, no hassel, no gimmicks. A truly refreshing internet experience.

Mine is a very interesting experience with K Lite Codec Pack.I am using this since very long.But after 7.5 version a problem cropped up.

I am using Boilsoft video splitter and cutter also.They started showing video screen with blue and green stripes with audio.So i reverted to 7.5.But now i upgraded to latest 9.3 and problem is same.Struggled whole day with various tweaks but no use.

The most surprising turnaround solution i found is starting K lite codec pack player with a video.Keeping it in pause and minimize to tray.Then i opened "Boilsoft" software.To my utter surprise the problem is vanished and it is showing well video.Once it is ok closing k lite has no problem.

I am sharing this for the benefit of others.

This k-lite codec pack is really great. I am using this on my laptop. And it is quiet good. I've never experience problem playing my video's.

latest version of k-lite codec have not a facility of thumbnail view.

Translations from MPC-HC are only included in the Mega codec pack, not in Full and Standard.

I can't change the language in mpc-hc. I can only see English. Without this problem, k-lite is very useful when I play video.
by the way, can I use it at school?

Seems great.I could not play flash files (.flv) with bsplayer pro and i could not find a solution for days,only this package did the work!!

Bad! Very bad! I was using v8.3.0 Basic and everything was excellent.

Then I've downloaded v8.6.0 and that was disaster.

My MKV files were "screaming" in Windows Media Player 9/WinXP SP3.

Please, fix it asap.

All I wanted was to add FLV to WMP
I had installed ffdshow and several splitters, etc
Nothing worked

I installed K-Lite
then double clicked a FLV file and Vwala, worked like a charm

Loved the fact it detected previous codecs and had me remove them, found bad regisrty links, etc

PERFECTO!
My only wish now to have this player on my Symbian BELLE!

very good codec pack & intelligent design. how smart? after i clicked setup, it detected my existing installed media player codec pack v4.1.4 and asked me to remove it.

after reboot, i clicked setup again then followed the instruction. it has a choice for me to select media player or windows media player, which i'm using. it even helped to cleanup some of file broken links in the windows registry!

after installation, my windows media player works perfectly ok and i have no issue at all to play dvd interactive, .mov (qt), flv, rmvf at different screen size.

Perfect! K-Lite Megacodec pack does shows thumbs on x64 Win 7. For thumbs in x64 you must ALSO install the codecpack 64 bit version. On x64 you must install 32bit and 64bit versions, in that order.

Just one small inconvinience. KLCP doesn't show thumbnails for all file types on my system (Win7 x64)
Same instalation shows thumbnails on other systems without a problem.

the repeat function(MPC) can only repeat 1 time when i run 2 programs simultaneously( 1 game and 1 music DVD(on MPC with minimized) ). I think it should be improved.

btw I forgot to specify that on win7 32-bit the internal filter H.264/AVC (DXVA) is workin' perfectly... so great for untouched blu-ray 1080p video format :)

Can someone tell me if the internal filter of media player classic H.264/AVC (DXVA) is workin on win xp x86 sp3 ? For me it's not working :( ... it gives me an output error... plz help.

In K-Lite Basic 7.7.0 FFDShow does not loading in Windows Media Player 9 on MP4 files.

I don't know why, but I've tried version 7.6.0 and it is working.

I don't know where the problem is on 7.7.0.
I hope that they are goning to fix it.

For dude who has problem with Windows 2000.

Probably K-Lite won't work with basic Win2000.

You probably must have SP2 for that. Latest SP for Win 2000 is SP4.

Like for WinXP and Vista. For XP, sp1, sp1a and sp2 are discontinued from support, also Vista without SP.

Maybe NEW codecs won't work with that version of SP you have on Win2000.

I don't know. I havent seen Win2000 almost ten years.

This 7.5.0 version says that it works with Windows 2000 but when I came to install it on my Windows 2000 PC it popped up a message saying that I have to have XP SP2. Why SP2? I think they need to update.

For me it's perfect. I have used k-lite codec pack since 2009 and already recommended to my friends many times. The problem is some file types can't be displayed with an icon. Just like the .MKV (Matroska) format, It uses the generic picture of WMP.

the codec pack is awesome.

There is only one but: even though I don't like the format, you guys should implement the .mkv codec as well.

klcp is good but the new update is disapointed me...
now im playing OGM format must manually set audio and subtitle to show it....

perhaps u guys want to bring back OGM internal filter

if you can play movies in your media player but cant hear sound try to download xvid. it worked for me, i can play all my movies now

excellent choice for ppl who wants all codecs in one pack . i have been trusting k lite codec pack for years and i cant stop using the media player classic that comes with it because of its simplicity and options .

Just try it for yourself. You have nothing to lose. The uninstall is very clean.

I was going to download the program after seeing it on Youtube. Now, I am really confused.

K-Lite is an excellent choice if you want to be able to play all video files. Not so much the included codecs, but that it sets up MPC pretty good and includes some useful tools. Sure many of the codecs and tools you won't use, but they won't hurt you either.

Can't believe a guy complained about a "missing" encoder, and thinks he speaks for "70% of the users" (where do these guys get those statistics?) - use Handbrake for encoding and MPC for playing, like normal persons.

This app has become completely useless for 70% of the people because MPEG-4 encoder (along with 90% of other useful encoders)in FFdshow VFW is GONE! For f@ck sake leave it as an option... I guess You don't want users to do their encodings anymore.

In the last 3 months everybody I know has said farewell to this codec pack because of this single flaw. Good luck with it...and btw, FAREWELL!!

just installed k-lite codec pack 6.6.6 such that i could play mts files. that worked but i can no longer play .mov files in windows media player. they seem to play in fast forward and the audio is a blur. any ideas?

Folks! All of you who have problems with these codecs and codec packs do the following: install Shark007 codec pack which is compatible both with Windows XP and Vista or its Windows 7 version that is fully compatible with Windows 7 which you can download from many web-sites.

I tested this codec pack in all of these three Windows versions and there were no problems and conflicts. Uninstall all related single codecs and packs and install this one and you will be able to play all audio/video formats in almost all popular players.

Only that you need is to configure it correctly and you cannot make mistake. Just don't forget to set almost all video formats Gabest and ffdshow wherever it is possible.

You need to use the Mega pack, which contains x264VFW for encoding H.264, encoding with ffdshow is no longer possible.
