Spdifer is a DirectShow filter enabling media players to passthrough multi-channel sound to the digital (SPDIF) output without any change. As a result, sounds can be decoded by external receivers.
Supports passthrough for AC3, DTS and MPEG Audio (including mp3) formats. All passthrough features of the 'big brother' AC3Filter filter are supported:

This filter is similar to the AC3Filter and it supports passthrough for the most popular formats (AC3, DRS and MPEG audio).

The features of the AC3 Filter are also supported by Spdifer: sample rate check, sound card reinitialization, SPDIF as PCM trick and DTS output mode change.

The last version of Spdifer, 0.3b, was improved with x64 support and a localized installer.

In order to use this filter you just need to select the formats you want to passthrough, and they will be used automatically by the media player.

It is recommended to disable other decoder filters or the filter’s output may be decoded.
