The poor image quality in downloaded movies is caused by the low resolution of the video, which on the other hand reduces download time.
During playback, image is resampled or stretched in order to create a higher resolution again, and consequently, quality decreases.
PixelFusion makes use of the algorithm enlarging the video to a proper viewing size and it manages to predict the pixels in the original high resolution file. The usual method of creating smooth transitions from one pixel to another is responsible for the blurry image.
The main features of PixelFusion are the resolution enhancement at medium quality (150% x 150%), the 5 sharpness settings, the fully optimized code using the MMX and SSE instruction sets if available, and the auto lighting option.
The last feature allows the application to adjust brightness and contrast automatically depending on how bright the image is. Moreover, the user can manually enable or disable Pixel Fusion or select automated options, where the software works on itself depending on CPU speed and video resolution.
After a simple and quick setup procedure, you can access the plugin’s configuration panel from Windows Media Player. Select options, Video DSP and access the Plugins tab. A limitation of the media player will prevent you from seeing the effects immediately; the playback will start again from the beginning.
The PixelFusion plugin allows you to enjoy great quality image and advanced but easy to handle options using the well-known media player included with the Windows operating system.
Blurry videos will no longer be a problem if you use this add-on.
