MPC–HC (aka Media Player Classic - Home Cinema) is an application based on Media Player Classic for playing audio and video files.
It has been developed by Casimir666 and its earliest versions have been improved significantly by adding various modern features.
As you can see, there are 3 versions of MPC-Home Cinema available for
- the official one, developed and compiled by Casimir666,
- the versions compiled by paehl. These are unmodified (vanilla) MPC-HC builds from the Git master branch.
- and really new ones (MPC-HC 1.8.6), compiled by clsid.
MPC-HC is easy to use and you will accommodate immediately with this software tool.
Apart from user friendliness, you will enjoy another series of advantages, too.
You won’t have the unpleasant surprise of your player not supporting the formats of your files. MPC - HC renders various audio, video and image formats, such as:
WMA, WAV, OGG, MP3, AU, SND, AIF, AIFF, AIFC, MPEG, MIDI, MP2, MPG, AC3, VOB, ASX, DTS, PLS, WAX, M3U, WM, WMV, AVI, CDA, JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, MP4, D2V, MOV, FLV, QT, SWF.
All this is possible without needing further configuration or additional software.
Easiness to use does not necessarily mean limited options. With MPC - HC, you can create and manage playlists; there is also the possibility of playing other playlist formats and to set favorites and access them from the player rather than browsing your computer each time.
The latest versions of this player show some improvements, compared to earlier versions.
For instance, LAV Filters and MediaInfoLib have been updated. See full changelog here and here.
Other features remain unchanged compared to previous releases: tearing removal, playing and recording television (provided that a TV tunner is installed), Shuttle PN31 remote control support, language translations, creating a minidump when the program crashes.
