i keep getting 1 screen or sometimes 2 screens that keep popping up every time i click on to something.it reads at top message from webpage- console.log:divx hiq debug:hiq update.this is really driving me crazy and i can't get it to stop popping up.

could you please stop it or tell me how to stop them from popping up. thanks cwood

im not sure if i want to download this now, as I had to do a total revamp of my entire computer. I was reading some of the reviews and someone said that the google toolbar is a "spyware"???? This is news to me. Is it really? I am asking because it came already installed on my computer right out of the factory..... can anyone tell me which codec packs do work and how i can retrieve them please? my email is lookin-atu @ hotmail.com

I only installed it last night, so I rated it good.
If you watch every window on the installation, the two checkboxes for installing google toolbar and something else( mozilla firefox I think) appear, and can be unchecked by you before installing.

Am having trouble getting MP10 to recognize video codec, so was looking for a replacement. After reading the reviews I made a sign of the cross and signed off. How sneaky can you get?

It works, which I guess it the main point, but there are a couple problems with this "codec" that made me immedietly uninstall it. One, I hate anything that tries to alter my browser and two, that d**n "Divx Playback Manager" (which I never wished to install mind you) keeps bringing up my start bar durring fullscreen playback, which is annoying as all hell.

I agree with the others. All I wanted to do was download this codec to watch 1 single video clip and it tried to install Google Desktop without even asking first.

What more is there in DIVX 5 than DIVX?

I don't know exactly about this File, but when I downloaded the free DivX (5.whatever) from the official DIVX Website, the Install file tried also to silently install the Google Toolbar, I only noticed this cause it faild to install on my system.
I think this is really mean since the google toolbar is spyware. Especially since they never mention the installation and you cannot choose not to install it.

Use Xvid (latest beta koepi build) instead. Does a better job than this ;-).
It decodes DivX as well.

It apparently ignores the frame rate in AVIs, and just plays them as fast as possible. Extremely annoying is the announcement at the end of the install, that the Google Toolbar was successfully installed. There was no prior mention of Google or their toolbar. Fortunately, it can easily be removed through the control panel.
