GUI for dvdauthor (GFD) is an application replacing dvdauthor, a command-line interface utility which converts videos to DVD.
The primary purpose of GFD is transforming television broadcasts into the DVD format, but this GUI can do a lot more than that, including MPG video conversion.
However, you need to know this program doesn’t do DVD ripping or transcoding.
GFD only provides you with VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, as well as VOB and IFO files and you consequently need to burn them of a blank disc using a burning program of your choice.
The features you can access with GFD are movie preview, menu preview, chapter menus, a chapter editor, subtitle menus, audio menus, animated menus and intros.
With this user-friendly GUI you can create chapters, menus and buttons that will make your DVD look professional. GFD supports both the PAL and NTSC formats and the 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios and it delivers good quality results.
Users who are interested in the command-line application can still download dvdauthor without GUI if they need only dvdauthor’s binaries instead of the GUI.
GFD also includes the GfD MingW DvdAuthor 0.6.13 mkisofs and mediainfo.dll. This application runs on the most popular Windows versions, from Windows 2000 to Windows 7.
GFD is a reliable and easy to use authoring tool that puts at your service the powerful features of dvdauthor. It is an excellent solution for the majority of users, who are accustomed to a graphical user interface.
GFD will make your video contents ready for burning them on a DVD, including menus and chapters creation.
