AsfBin is an easy to use application for cutting, joining, editing and repairing ASF files, including those with WMV and WMA extensions.

All these operations are possible without recompressing the file and affecting sound quality.

In spite of its compact design, AsfBin includes a wide range of features and it allows you to edit your ASF files in various ways.

First of all, AsfBin enables you to cut fragments out of ASF files with single frame accuracy.

Precise file joining is another available option, and you can also repair damaged and unseekable ASF files. Other abilities of this utility are creating loops, removing streams, adjusting packet size, adjusting buffer window, removing scripts and markers, saving segments to separate ASF files, adding markers and commands, delaying selected streams and optimizing packet size.

Additionally, you can print out information on key frames location and index entries, you can control over the type of indexing and you can cut fragments adjusted precisely to key frames locations.

In the first versions of AsfBin, the result of an operation used to be one media file. After version 1.5a, users were allowed to save each selected range to a separate file. Another innovation used in this software is recreating key frames basing on progressive ones. This means you can cut the video at any desired time position.

AsfBin does not rely on the ASF file index, which means it can skip damaged areas and repair data streams starting from the first good samples.

AsfBin is a good option if you need a reliable editing program for ASF, WMV and WMA files. A high sound quality is maintained and the application needs a reasonable amount of system resources.

Changes to AsfBin 1.8.3:

- Added output file duration micro-corrections to make it more precise when joining multiple files together.
- All markers, scripts and attributes input files used to provide the list of data to embed in the resulting output file now can handle correctly UTF-8 text files allowing using any languages like Japanese or Arabic. Escape characters may be now used. IMPORTANT! To get '\' into ASF file you need to escape it by doubling it ('\\').
- AsfBin can fix files that were having incorrect entries in the metadata object preventing it from playing by major video players like VLC or Media Player Classic.
