SubEdit Player focuses on subtitle opening and editing, and it is versatile enough to play almost any audio and video format and any subtitle.
SubEdit Player has not been developed anymore for a few years, and it requires Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher.
At the same time, installing the right codecs is necessary if you want SubEdit Player to open all common video and audio file formats.
One of the best things about SubEdit Player is being portable. This means you don’t have to install it and modify your Windows registry. You can keep it on your local disc or on a portable memory device and run it when necessary.
The features of SubEdit Player can be divided into player properties and subtitle properties. Player properties are not very impressive, but you need to keep in mind that this is a player focusing on subtitles rather than video and audio configuration options.
With SubEdit Player, you can play movies on TV, you can play all files from a directory, you can set the PC to shut down after the movie ends and you can use a player resume after system hangup. Movie chapters, playlists, video file association, zoom and auto-loading the next part of a movie are also supported.
Regarding subtitles, SubEdit Player allows you to convert subtitles format, to shift subtitles display time, to split or merge subtitles, to make them transparent or to use a subtitle editor.
Other subtitle options are changing their FPS value, inserting a movie’s current frame as subtitle frame, lighting up briefly displayed subtitles lines and many others.
SubEdit Player is likely to impress you if you want to focus on subtitle editing and management, while player properties are kept at a basic level.
