DScaler 4 is a piece of software that captures video, processes it, and scales it for presentation on a projector or computer monitor.

This video calibration software is accessible to average users and it makes video production simpler compared to other specialized applications.

First of all, DScaler is a graphical user interface, which makes it easier to use but not less powerful.

The input supported by this program is diverse and can come from various sources: DVD players, laserdiscs, game consoles, or VCR.

The input can be sources either in analog or digital form.

The videos can be deinterlaced and re-scaled to any resolution you prefer, in order to make them compatible with various devices, including projector screens.

Other features of DScaler are reducing video noise in analog sources; viewing still images; reducing judder and other video timing anomalies; automatic calibration of video capture cards for better contrast and color; and editing videos using filters. Furthermore, the application identifies and removes 2:2 pulldown (PAL) and 3:2 pulldown (NTSC) in filmed television programs.

After version 4, DScaler was included in the DirectShow filter. The last version of the standalone DScaler was updated with better Vista support, a new skin and a new toolbar, DirectShow support for tuners and file, new card definitions, a PowerStrip modeline option when shifting resolution to full screen mode, a DScope video filter and Colorimetry filter, timeshift, and fixed several memory issues.

DScaler is very compact for the wide range of options it offers and it does the job of many other oversized editing suites.

Adapting videos for projectors and computer monitors by changing their resolution becomes a lot easier, and you can also try multiple editing options.
