Video DVD Maker Free 3.19.0.42

I tried to use this to convert an hour-long mpeg to burn to DVD. After nearly 4 hours it was still less than a third the way through so I gave up. I use a notebook with an AMD Athlon processor running XP. Judging from this I would suggest this software is only suitable if you have a high-spec machine, in which case you probably already have Windows DVD Maker anyway.

I have an old VHS camcorder and I have been looking for a way to AVI my files to my system for digital editing. This software does the job of video capture very well though I am still looking at the various codecs.

That's what I want to know. I just burned a useless disc. I can only play the movie on my computer.
Will this program allow me to play discs in a regular DVD player or Playstation 2/3 platform?
